Chinese to English Translation For A Watch

I got a watch from China and the paperwork that came with it had a blurb about the watch. I found this hilarious!

“This is a new stylish design of the new exciting products, using high-tech digital technology, the use of digital arrangement with the combination of imported high-brightness LED choose carefully built an impressive gray LED WATCH. When pressing the watch button displays the time, acted like a gap in the heat from the case broke out,…”

And my favorite part:

“… flowing over your every nerve, so you excited. Wow! The time out of their show, really fantastic!”

LOLOL

A simple LED watch “flows over your every nerve”… makes you “excited”! I will admit that the watch is a very unique design and impressive, but I don’t think the translation quite hit the mark. Makes it sound like an “adult product”! LOL

Billy West… Didn’t realize how much of a fan I truly was!

If you’re old enough, you should remember Ren & Stimpy and should know that Billy West was the voice of Stimpy. That was my introduction to Billy West and his amazing talents. Check out the song “Ren’s Pecs” if you want to know just how talented he is! Anyway, about 2 years ago, I stumbled across the Oblongs and recognized Billy West’s voice and was pleased to learn that the producers called the show the “Billy West Show”. The DVD extras showed Billy and it was nice to put another face to the voice. (Other than Stimpy’s)

I watch a lot of cartoons, so I found out he had also put some vocals on Rocko’s Modern Life. Still didn’t pull up his info on IMDB.com, though. I kind of like the surprises I am getting. I love Futurama, and did indeed recognize Billy as Phillip J. Fry.

Nickelodeon is airing 90’s shows like Clarissa Explains It All (modern version:Ned’s Declassified) and Doug (which is now called Disney’s Doug and the VERY similar modern version is Diary of a Whimpy Kid!!!) and I have been DVR’ing the Doug episodes, since I liked them so much back in the day. I saw the info for the show and ran across Billy West’s name! He was the voice of Doug! No wonder I liked him!

Does anyone know if he was at Comic-con? I am truly going to be there next year!

La Roux – In For The Kill

I desperately try not to listen to new music because it all “sounds like shit” (see South Park), so sometimes I miss a gem. Actually, the reason I “found” this song was I heard it while shopping. It’s screechy and 80’s and has a good, simple hook. As soon as I got home, I looked up the “going in for the kill” lyric and found La Roux. I had heard of her a while back, but didn’t like whatever song I heard back then, so I wrote her off.

This video was done in 2009, so I am jamming to a 2-year-old song. For some reason, they thought that this video wasn’t suitable for USA listeners, so they made another one that wasn’t as 80’s and artsy. I like this one better, of course:

I kind of like this delayed music finding. It makes it cheaper if I need to buy it. Maybe she would need a dollar 2 years later. Also, people have time to make remixes.

Smurfs – A “pre-review” (but not preview…)

I loved the smurfs back in the 80’s. Especially the cereal-Smurfberries! So when I heard they were making a computer-animated movie with the smurfs, I was elated.

Then I saw the preview.

GROSS!

A public note to the movie houses:

WE DO NOT WANT TO SEE COMPUTER ANIMATED CARTOONS MIXED WITH LIVE ACTION!

This gross preview is now chalked up with the horrendous Scooby Doo movies.

This would have been a classic had they animated ALL of it.

And another note:

DON’T “GHETTO” UP CLASSIC CHARACTERS! We don’t need Snoop Smurfedy Smurf! This immediately “dates” your movie and will look stupid in years to come. Keep it clean. Keep it simple, like the cartoons. It will be timeless.

So, no, I haven’t seen the movie yet, and probably never will. So, this is my “pre-review”.
